Under his leadership, Downtown Automotive has set a benchmark in the industry as a digital, paperless shop specializing in Domestic and Asian vehicle maintenance. Known for enhanced transparency, the shop integrates digital inspections and provides detailed recommendations with pictures, exemplifying client education and premium professional services.

Doug’s commitment extends beyond his business. He has started his own consulting company to share his profound knowledge and experience with shop software solutions, like Protractor and Autovitals, with fellow shop owners. This initiative offers a complete software package coupled with a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and the specific setup required to run a highly efficient shop, embodying his passion for elevating service standards and promoting excellence within the automotive industry.

Away from the shop, Doug is an avid enthusiast of the great outdoors, with hobbies that speak to his love for adventure and the thrill of mechanics. He is deeply passionate about mountain biking, motorcycles, and off-roading. However, it is snowmobiling that stands out as his paramount interest, reflecting his appreciation for both the beauty of nature and the excitement of powerful, well-engineered machines.

As a lifelong learner and innovator, Doug continues to explore new avenues to bring about positive change in the automotive industry. He is excited to co-present with Bruce, another esteemed shop coach at the NAPA business development meeting, where he aims to share his insights and strategies for success with a wider audience, further promoting the professionalism that he passionately advocates for in the industry.
